Individual Educational Services
The largest vocational adult education establishment in Satakunta, Pori Adult Education Centre (PAKK), is a full service education centre. We want to extend our service to you personally, in a flexible manner.We provide training for six about hundred students a year and our staff totals well over one hundred.
Enter and advance your vocation
You are certain to find your own subjects from the varied choice offered by Pori Adult Education Centre, whether you are just entering the labour market, or are already well settled in and seeking to further develop your skills, or even thinking of a complete change of career. With us, you can study individual subjects and gain individual skills or take complete exams - from basic exams to higher vocational levels. Schemes include those for self-education, training for the labour market, supplementary education as well as in-service and apprenticeship training. All in the spirit of lifelong learning.
Flexible and working life oriented
Today studying is flexible and varied, not strictly tied to time and place. Education has a strong orientation to real working life, and hands-on learning is appreciated. The student´s needs are the starting point. How and when will you learn best, what is your working experience and education, how high are your goals? Let us together design a suitable curriculum for you.
Modern and capable
All the modern premises and facilities of Pori Adult Education Centre are at your disposal. Our staff totals well over one hundred. The teachers are constantly upgrading their professional skills, and they co-operate closely with other working professionals. Our teachers are increasingly becoming tutors, coaches and consultants.
Extensive and Versatile
In Pori Adult Education Centre, you can study general subjects which are required in any vocation, or specific vocational skills. In other words, anything from languages and information technology to the special skills of a chef for the catering industry or a draftsman for the construction industry.

There are plenty of alternatives within each field of training. We offer basic and supplementary training in both day and evening classes, during weekdays and weekends. The duration of courses and training periods varies from a couple of days to a couple of years.The students follow a personal study plan. Today Net courses offer a flexible alternative for adult studies. PAKK provides a large range of Net courses which you can attend and study via the net.
And that´s not all
We will also give you board, lodging and healthcare. Among the services we offer
to businesses are consultation, educational planning, product development and
working atmosphere surveys.
We focus on exams...
In Pori Adult Education Centre, we focus on developing vocational and further
education qualification certificates (VEQC, FEQC). A diploma and a professional
certificate are indeed valid currency on the labour market.
...to develop and on going international
During the last years our development and international operations have expanded.
We participate in several national projects funded by ESF and EAGG as a project
coordinator and as partners. Lately the ESF- funded projects have focused on
piloting new methods of education ( e-learning), developing regional skills, job
rotation, developing working life(SataUra) and developing the skills of adults
in working life ( Noste). Further more our organisation acts as one of the
regional developer organisations of ESF-projects. Pori Adult Education Centre
has strongly participated in developing studying in the Net for adults’ needs.
The virtual school projects are funded by the National Board of Education and
the operations are supervised by a development manager.
The international operation has been especially lively within projects. We have participated as partners in several Leonardo Da Vinci funded projects over the years. The cooperation between project partners is very active and we also want to cooperate with working life. We support the internationalization of both staff and students by arranging language studies and taking part in mobility projects. In the future we are interested in developing our operations with the help of pilot and mobility projects. PAKK has a person in charge of international cooperation and projects.
Quality and enviroment
The Adult Education Centre is obliged to follow the requirements of the SFS ISO
9001- quality standard system and the environment system according to
14001-standard. These standards ensure that the quality of education and service
is always of a high level.
